Supposedly,
they make the best coffee; even better than Starbucks. I found the
prices to be surprisingly high. Great coffee means high prices. I
ordered a vanilla Lavanza while my aunt ordered a mocha flavored Lavanza.
They took their time in making the coffee and when they were finally
done, I tasted the coffee and found it to be made very well. It was
creamy and perked me up right away. They really do know how to make
a good coffee.
Our coffee break over, we went and met Uncle Huei and the kids at
the toy store. Naturally, the kids were in awe of all the toys there
and they wanted everything. However, like parents usually are, my
aunt and uncle refused to buy them anything. They were particularly
enthralled with the toy penguins that go up a motorized staircase
and slides their way down to the bottom to go up the staircase all
over again. Uncle Huei decided that he and the kids were going to
go back to the apartment. My aunt asked if I wanted to watch a movie
and I thought that it would be fun to watch a movie in Taiwan. We
went to the multiplex downstairs and waited in line to buy tickets.
I found it funny the way they sell tickets in Taiwan. They actually
assign seats and ask you if you want to listen to the packages they
offer. We bought tickets to watch the Bourne Identity.
The theater was relatively small compared to American theaters, and
there were not that many people inside. After finding our seats, we
waited for the movie to start which didn’t take very long.

Like in America, there are commercials
and previews in the beginning. The movie was very entertaining.
I found the sound system to be especially loud which made the movie
going experience much better. During the movie, I had to go to the
toilet. My aunt seemed to be very squeamish and had to cover her
eyes a few times; overall, a very good movie.
When the movie finished, we went to shop some more
and I finally found some clothes that I liked at a store called
B.U.M. equipment. I also bought a shirt for one of my friends. As
we were making our transactions, my aunt got a call from Uncle Huei
informing him that he didn’t have his keys and had locked
himself out of the apartment. I was surprised that they had stayed
outside in the rain for so long. Aunt May wasn’t that surprised
as she said that he often did this.
It wasn’t raining too hard outside, to our
surprise, and we quickly walked back to the apartment. Uncle Huei
didn’t have too much trouble keeping him and the kids busy
as I could see they went to McDonalds and to other stores. Getting
back to their apartment, we ate dinner. The sticky rice actually
tasted very good and I enjoyed it very much. The kids fought quite
a bit. What else is new? To end the day, I watched Spy Games along
with my aunt and uncle and then went to bed. Da-Chien made a big
fuss while my aunt tried to put him to bed. That was the day!
