I
woke up today to a very rainy day again. The typhoon was getting closer
and would probably make for a very wet and rainy day. As usual, I
went online and found that one of my friends was online. He wasn’t
responding however as he was watching a football game. Since today
was such a rainy day, Uncle Huei, Da-Ging, Da-Quan got to stay home
from the perfunctory of their lives. They told us that it was possible
that it could flood here in Taiwan, as it flooded before. There was
nowhere to go today due to the weather so we all decided that we would
go to The Living Mall to get some shopping, for me, done. Grandma
came over briefly but left since we were not going to go anywhere
particular today. In addition, they told me that we were not going
to Kaohsiung on Saturday as originally planned. Before leaving for
the Living Mall, I studied for the GRE some more. Breakfast consisted
of balls wrapped in glutinous rice.
Once we got ready and readied our umbrellas, we walked
to the Living Mall. Along the way, Da-Quan took a slip on the wet
surface after running too fast. As of then, there wasn’t much
rain. There were a lot of sandbags packed against the mall, in case
there was flooding. We first went all the way to the top to the bookstore
at the top of the mall. I paged through a few of the books. Afterward,
we decided to go to eat lunch. We ate Dim Sum. Da-Ging and Da-Quan
made a lot of noise and were very rowdy, but this was nothing new.
The food tasted delicious. I also took random pictures of the kids
just for fun.

After lunch, we went back to the bookstore to once
again page through the eclectic variety of books that they do have
there. Their magazine rack has pretty much all the major magazines
you would find in the US as well as other countries. I picked up
Time and Newsweek to read. When I finished looking through the books,
my aunt and I went to go shopping in the mall while Uncle Huei and
the two wild kids continued to browse through the bookstore.
We first stopped by a store named Tee, which had lots of nice selections
of clothing. I found that there were two collared shirts that I
liked which were on sale. After trying them on, I finally decided
on these two shirts. One was black in color while the other was
a white collared shirt with a straight lined pattern in the middle.
We then stopped by an A&D clothing store and I found the prices
there to be even cheaper than Tee! All the shirts were very nice
and were very cheap. After I tried on a few shirts, I bought a sleeveless
shirt for my brother and shorts for myself. I was surprised by how
cheap they amounted to. My aunt thought so too. Clothing in Taiwan
is definitely cheaper than America.
Afterward came a lull in my shopping binge and I really couldn’t
find anything else that I liked. The other stores really didn’t
have anything that I liked or thought looked good. So, after not
finding anything else, my aunt asked if I wanted to get coffee at
this in-mall coffee shop called Lavanza.
