I had no idea what we were going to do today. All I knew was that we were going to go to some aboriginal culture village. So, I got up and got ready to go out. My second uncle, his wife and her mother took me to go get soybean milk and fritters wrapped in Chinese pancakes. The place was near this outdoor flea market which I think I went to before when I was last here. From there, we went to the hotel my aunt and her family was staying at. We were supposed to meet at nine, but they were late. I think they were caught up with trying to get the kids ready to go out. My second uncle went in twice to try to find them and I even went into once to inquire as to whether they were still eating breakfast. However, fifteen minutes later, they were outside and ready to get going. Kiki sat in my lap for most of the trip, which I found to be sweet. Along the way, we stopped at a gas station. What I love most about Taiwan gas stations is that most of the stations are equipped with people ready to serve you. They pump your gas and squeegee your windows. Afterward, they give you free gifts based on the amount you pump. It’s just a way for the gas stations to get more customers and to stay competitive with each other. This station gave us free bottles of water. We also had the car washed and then we were off again.

The drive took about one to two hours. Along the way, it was determined that I wouldn’t be leaving for Tainan that night as originally planned.
Simply because, it would be very late at night and we were afraid that we would disturb my grandmother. So, I would be going down the next day instead. Originally, I was going to go down with my cousins. When we finally got there, my mother’s kins did not go in. They just drove us up there to show us the way. That was awfully nice of them. I got into my aunt’s vehicle and we went into the aboriginal culture village. My uncle gave me a minted coin that was the newest addition to the Taiwanese currency. I did not realize that the place we were going to visit was a theme park! The place was like a cross between Disneyland and a Hawaiian culture center. Plus, the park was located deep within the mountains, which made the park all the more beautiful and breathtaking. My aunt and uncle told me that I had the responsibility of going on all the rides with Da-Ging. It was at this time that I noticed I had a huge bug bite on my right forearm. There was some redness and swelling, but it didn’t bother me too much. Going in, we first went to this place that was called Aladdin’s castle. In here, there were a lot of rides to go on. We all first went on the Merry-Go-Round, twice. From there I accompanied Da-Ging on this Pirates boat ride that swung back and forth like a pendulum. The thing went high! We then went on this rotating balloon ride that was kind of similar to the Dumbo ride in Disneyland. Da-Ging then wanted to go on Space Mountain and so I accompanied him on the ride.
