So, here it is, the very last day here in Taiwan. It’s been a great two weeks and I’ve had a lot of fun here. I got the chance to do many fun things and go to many places. I hope to be able to come back here again sometime in the future. I woke up to find that my uncle had left already on his business trip. I went online again to chat with some friends and then played around with the three kids for most of the morning. The three kids were naturally crazy and bouncing all over the place. Today, we were going to go up to Yang Ming Mountain. My aunt warned the kids to behave since it was my last day in Taiwan. I chuckled at that because I knew the kids were going to act up despite promising that they wouldn’t fight.

As we drove there, we got lost. My aunt didn’t really know where she was going and Da-Ging seemed to know. He tried giving my aunt directions, but she still wasn’t so sure where she was going. My aunt tried calling some friends for directions and eventually she found her way there. My aunt felt very sleepy because she had sent my uncle off on his business trip early in the morning so she went to Starbucks to get coffee first. Da-Ging offered to go in and buy the coffee for her, which I found to be pretty funny, but sweet. Driving up to the mountain was quite the chore. Da-Quan and Da-Ging were relentless in their noise making. They kept on screaming and horsing around and making odd noises. It bothered aunt a lot though the kids seemed to enjoy being annoying.
Along the way, we passed by an amusement park that was deep in the mountains. It didn’t seem like anybody went there as none of the rides were running. We finally arrived at the top of the mountain.

The view from the mountain was quite scenic. Our lunch was at this small diner near the side of the road. What made this place unique was that the owners grew the food that they cooked. They raised and slaughtered their own chicken and they planted, grew, and reaped their own crops. The only items that were not home-grown were the soft drinks. I ordered a bowl of chicken soup, which I found to be delicious. The main dish consisted of taro cakes and some kind of vegetable. There was a cage with a rabbit inside that Da-Quan and Da-Ging found to be amusing. After lunch, I went with Da-Ging and Da-Quan to look at the place where they planted the crops and raised the chicken. The chicken coop smelled. Near the vegetable patch, I could see a clear view of Taipei. I videotaped the scene as well as Da-Quan and Da-Ging getting into more mischief. There were also some unique looking dragonflies that I had never seen before. Their wings were purple and blue in color. When we were done looking at the patch, we went back up to the diner. There, I bought for the two kids some drinks, while I bought for myself some soda drink. We then all headed out to this brook to play in.
