The
brook didn’t seem very sanitary, as it was located at the side
of the road. The water didn’t seem clean but the kids played
in it anyway. While they had on full “play in the brook”
gear, my aunt and I just took off our shoes and stepped in the brook.
The water was cold and the rocks were quite painful on my toes and
heel. Da-Chien seemed really eager and wanted to play in the brook.
He thrashed his legs about when he wasn’t in the brook. Da-Ging
and Da-Quan played with the rocks and threw them all over the place.
They built little mini rock forts and pushed the rocks from a bridge
that went over the brook. It was all a very jolly good time until
Da-Ging accidentally (or purposely) made Da-Quan fall into the brook
and hurt himself. Aunt May got pretty upset over this and yelled at
Da-Ging. The situation was made even more awkward when two girls passed
by and stared at my aunt yelling at Da-Ging. Anyway, I played with
Da-Chien who was oblivious to all of this. Ah, to be ignorant and
naive! Da-Ging was crying and Da-Quan was crying. It was all very
melodramatic. I didn’t think the situation was that grave, but
you know, to a kid, everything is a big deal.
We then went back to my grandparent’s apartment. All the kids
slept for the trip back which, I’m sure, eased my aunt’s
headache. Before we got back to the apartment, my aunt stopped by
a shoe store, in case I wanted to buy some shoes. She had said that
this particular shoe store sold the cheapest shoes.

I
didn’t find anything I liked and so we left. At my grandparent’s
apartment, I played with the kids most of the time. I also played
the puzzle game some more, along with packing all of my belongings.
Grandma bought a lot of things for me to take back to America, including
a bottle of wine. My first uncle had also dropped off the CD that
he had promised me from a few days ago. Anyway, the kids also watched
some cartoons and Da-Quan bit me on the thigh for some reason. I ate
dinner at my grandparent’s place. Da-Ging seemed to still be
in a very bad mood as he got into more mischief, which made my aunt
angrier. Soon, it was time to go to the airport. My grandparents were
going to take me there. Da-Quan was going to accompany us originally,
but my grandpa thought that it would be too much of a hassle, so he
didn’t go. I said goodbye to my aunt and the kids. Each of them
gave me a peck on the cheek, though I had to give Da-Chien a kiss.
My grandparents had rented a car that would take us to the airport.
In the car, my grandpa quickly made light conversation
with the driver. The trip to the airport was interesting as we took
another route that was different from the route we usually took to
get to the airport. My grandparents found this to be most interesting.
My grandpa also had a conversation with the driver about his company’s
fares. Anyway, we soon got to the airport and I checked in.
