Security
was tight and so the people had to check my luggage thoroughly. It
was still a little early, so I showed my grandparents some of the
video I took while I was in Taiwan. They seemed to enjoy the five
minutes that I showed them. Soon, it was time to go through the terminal,
so I said goodbye to my grandparents and went to the boarding gate.
At first, I was apprehensive about going through security again, but
it went relatively smoothly. One guard noticed the bottle of wine
that was in my backpack when it went through the X-ray and I told
him that it was a gift from my grandmother. At the boarding gate,
I began writing my last journal entry, when the airport people announced
that we would need to be X-rayed and checked again for security reasons.
It was at this time that I noticed my backpack was dripping wine.
I soon realized that the wine bottle’s seal had broken open
and wine had leaked everywhere causing my backpack to smell like wine.
After going through security, I asked if anybody had a plastic bag.
Nobody did, so I had to improvise by using the trash bag from a trash
can. At least it worked! When I got on the plane, I was happy that
there wasn’t going to be anybody sitting next to me. I had the
whole row of seats to myself! For most of the trip back home, I lied
down and slept. Though I did watch one of the movies, which was entitled
About a Boy. Ten hours later, I finally arrived back in California.
I was happy to be home and I was also hungry. I was a little bit tired
from the jetlag. My mom greeted me happily. |
I had a great time in Taiwan and I do hope to go
back again. I saw many things and I went to many places. I do miss
the little kids and the rest of my relatives. I do believe that
we will be going back to Taiwan again very soon. Until next time!
