This
ride is exactly the same as it is in Disneyland. You pretty much are
riding a roller coaster in the dark. Da-Ging enjoyed it, as did I.
Then, we all went on this slow moving train ride which was a needed
break after Space Mountain. The train pretty much took us all around
in circles and was kind of boring. There were also some dancing puppets
that I didn’t care much for. We went on the monorail soon afterward
and this ride pretty much took us around in a circle through Aladdin’s
castle. From the monorail, we saw this very intimidating looking ride
that rotated you up and down like one of those rotating barbecue grills,
except much faster. In addition, one side may swing downward as the
other side swings upward. So, the kids forewent this ride and we all
went on this Jurassic boat adventure ride. Basically, it consisted
of a bunch of animatronics dinosaur robots. The ride kind of showed
the evolution of dinosaurs up to its extinction by suggesting that
it was the Stone-Age Neanderthals that wiped them out. The kids liked
it so much that we all went on it a second time. Afterward, Da-Ging
and my Uncle Huei went on Space Mountain together again. Da-Quan seemed
upset by the fact that he couldn’t go on Space Mountain, so
my uncle took him on the swinging boat ride again, together. Da-Chien
didn’t understand much of what was going on, but he seemed to
enjoy just staring at the rides.
We finally got to lunch and ate inside of Aladdin’s castle.
I had a pizza, which was completely unlike any pizza you would find
in America.

There
was no tomato sauce and the toppings consisted of corn and peas. They
also provided ketchup for you to use as a dipping sauce of some sort.
We then all went on this ride called the Royal Train, which like the
monorail, took us around Aladdin’s castle, except below it.
The train had this deafening whistle that made us cringe whenever
the conductor tooted the horn. During the ride, it went through this
tunnel where there were scary looking monsters trying to scare little
kids but making older people laugh at the ridiculousness and randomness
of it all. We finally left the castle and took off for Splash Mountain,
or as it is called here, Gold Mine Mountain. The ride surprised me,
as there were two drops instead of one. One drop was smaller than
the other. The ride was of such great fun for the kids that we all
went on it again! We all got wet. Like its counterpart in Disneyland,
there were photos of us during the last big drop. My uncle bought
one for us. Da-Ging liked the ride so much that he asked to go on
it one last time! So, they did. Finally, after dragging Da-Ging away
from the ride, we all went to this love boat ride, which just took
us around in a circle. After forgoing the Mayan roller coaster and
the UFO ride, we went on the cable cars to the very top of the theme
park. Just as a side note, the Mayan roller coaster seemed equivalent
to Top Gun in Great America and the UFO similar to Drop Zone.
