He
told me that of all the exhibits in the museum (which were a lot),
we only saw a little less than 1% of all the museum actually had.
He said that the rest of the artifacts were stored underneath the
mountain behind the museum, because the archaeologists feared an attack
by some relic desecrators.
We left the museum a few hours later and took the taxi back to the
subway stop. We then took the MRT to our lunch spot, which was a Japanese
grill restaurant. The chef would cook the food you ordered right in
front of you. I found the food delicious and plentiful. I actually
thought that it was the best food I had eaten in Taiwan so far. After
lunch, we took the MRT to this underground computer exposition where
all kinds of computer parts imaginable were sold. In addition, there
were probably many illegal things being sold as well as well as some
pornography. My first uncle joked that now I was seeing artifacts
from the near future as opposed to artifacts from many centuries ago.
It was a computer extravaganza! Everything from laptops to DVDs was
being sold there. My first uncle bought 200 hundred blank CD-R’s.
I thought that I wanted to buy something, but I decided not to. We
walked around and toured the many stores for about an hour before
heading back. A lot of the stuff here is very cheap.

Then,
my first uncle took me back to the first stop from where we departed
and sent me off back home. He told me that he would give me a copy
of a software program later on as a present from him, which I appreciated.
When I got back to my grandparent’s apartment, I discovered
that, seemingly, nobody was at home to open the front gate. I rang
the buzzer several times, but nobody answered. I thought that maybe
grandma and grandpa had fallen asleep. I didn’t know what to
do, so I walked to the nearest telephone booth to call my aunt. Luckily,
I had a telephone card that I could use. I think I called the wrong
number the first time, but I got through to her the second time. My
aunt was concerned and said that she would keep calling grandma to
try to wake them up because she thought that they would be sleeping.
She told me to keep calling them too. I couldn’t get through
to them and so I decided that I need something to eat. So I went to
the nearest 7-11 which was really close by and bought a taro flavored
Popsicle, which I found to be delicious! Eventually, after ringing
several times, my grandma finally answered the door and welcomed me
back. For most of the rest of the afternoon, I took care of Da-Chien.
I taped him playing around and I had a good time. I also watched a
little bit of TV. |
