take
pictures. Even though it didn’t rain, it was really windy. Da-Quan
wanted to play in the sand and was dismayed that there was no sand
to play with. My uncle assured him that there would be eventually.
The place was pretty empty except for a couple of people. My aunt
told me that most people came on the weekends. We walked around on
the pier, taking pictures and we let Da-Chien crawl on the pier, which
I thought was pretty funny. We stopped at a shallow play pool for
kids. Da-Quan wanted to keep on playing at the pool but we moved on
to look at oddly shaped trees. Apparently these trees were uprooted
and planted here purposely because the beholder thought these trees
were unique in their appearance.
Afterwards, we drove north still and stopped by a park
that overlooked the ocean to let Da-Quan play in the sand. The park
had a maze that you could go through. I took Da-Chien and went through
the maze, which took a surprisingly long time. There was also this
rope ladder and a rope bridge that you could climb. Da-Quan enjoyed
playing in the sand and throwing the sand at the stray dogs that were
wandering the park. Taiwan has a lot of these dogs. There were also
swinging logs that you could swing across. I took many pictures here.
We then headed out to a seafood restaurant where you could choose
actual live seafood and have them cook the seafood for you to eat.

The
food was definitely delicious especially the vegetables, which were
cooked with some sort of spice that made it taste unique. The seafood
was great as well. The one with the fish eggs tasted different. When
we finished feasting on seafood galore, my uncle bought for us, an
iced egg-shaped Popsicle. I think mine was mango flavored. We headed
back to Taipei and along the way my aunt went and bought the crab
dish that she was raving about the day before. The dish smelled excellent,
unfortunately, we had already eaten. We picked up Da-Ging from school
and we stopped by or I should say, nearby the tall tower that was
still in the middle of construction. My uncle called it 101, because
there was going to be 101 floors, obviously. It was a tall and beautiful
building and I got to take a couple of pictures here. As an aside,
putting Da-Ging and Da-Quan together will always lead to trouble,
as Da-Ging just cannot keep his hands to himself and just has to poke
and prod at Da-Quan, which in turn leads to Da-Quan being very irritated
and start hitting Da-Ging back. This then ensues and escalates into
fighting and punching and kicking. As a consequence, my uncle or aunt
gets mad and yells at them to stop or else. This usually happens every
time.
When we got back to the apartment, I asked to see the
old videos of Da-Ging when he was little. |
